Foster Carers
Registered foster carers are listed as mandated persons in the Children First Act 2015. This means that if you are a registered foster carer and you have reason to believe that a child may have been, is being, or is at risk of being abused or neglected, you are legally required to report your concerns to Tusla.
The term foster carer under the Children First Act includes any foster carer who is registered with Tusla, including pre-adoptive foster carers, supported lodgings providers, Tusla foster carers (general and relative carers) and foster carers registered with private fostering agencies.
