Family Support Portal
On January 1st, 2026, Tusla launched a new way of working across Ireland to better support our 4,000+ staff and, most importantly, the Children and Families we serve.
We have brought our services closer to our communities by organising our teams into 6 regions, with 5 local networks in each region. This means no matter where a child, young person, family, or foster carer lives, they will get the same high-quality care and support.
In order to avoid any barriers, families now enter through a single 'Front Door' team in each region. From there, our new Local Integrated Teams work closely together, using one shared digital record, so they can share information, collaborate easily, and provide the right support in a timely manner.
Ultimately, this change is about making our services more connected, and responsive to the needs of Children, Young People and their Families.
Family Support Portal
Tusla’s new Family Support and Meitheal Request Portal is now live nationwide. Our aim is to support a more integrated way of working for children, young people and their families. Starting September 1st, 2026, this online tool streamlines how we work together and coordinate care for families in our communities.
The portal is now available across all Tusla Networks, and we kindly ask that all Family Support & Meitheal requests now be submitted through the new Tusla Portal using the following link: https://submissions.tusla.ie

Further information on Tusla Network boundaries is available here
Children, young people and families can continue to directly access youth projects, parenting supports, family support projects, Family Resource Centres and other community based projects funded by Tusla as you always have.
If you have made the decision to put a referral into the Family Support Portal and there are no Child Protection concerns, there is no need to put a separate referral into Tusla’s Child Protection Portal.
