What is a Parliamentary Question or a Representation
A parliamentary question (PQ) is a question raised by a member of the Oireachtas (TD) for oral or written answer in the Oireachtas. The question is generally submitted for answer by the Taoiseach, the Tanaiste, a Minister or Minister of State of the Government. A parliamentary question can relate to a policy issue, service-related issues, individual personal matters or general matters of public interest.
A representation is an issue raised by a TD on behalf of a constituent or group of constituents.
