Tusla - An Ghníomhaireacht um Leanaí agus an Teaghlach - Child and Family Agency

What are the consequences of not having a Child Safeguarding Statement?

There is a provision in the Children First Act 2015 for Tusla to establish and maintain a register of non-compliance for service providers who fail to provide a copy of the Child Safeguarding Statement to Tusla when requested to do so.

The Tusla Child Safeguarding Statement Compliance Unit (CSSCU) is a dedicated Tusla department set up solely to manage the requirement for providers to have a Child Safeguarding Statement in place. Support and guidance documentation has been released by Tusla  (available here) to support providers to meet this requirement. Support and guidance can be accessed via the CSSCU Staff also. The unit is responsible to operate and maintain the required register of non-compliance under Articles 12 & 13 of the Children First Act 2015
