Tusla - An Ghníomhaireacht um Leanaí agus an Teaghlach - Child and Family Agency

Staff Update

Following today’s storm conditions, all Tusla services will be open for business tomorrow, 17th October 2017. Alternative local arrangements may have to be made if, for example, power or phone lines are affected.

Please take note of the following guidelines once the storm has fully passed your area:

  1. It is only safe to travel when the storm has fully passed your area and weather conditions are suitable;
  2. Staff are advised to be particularly vigilant of hazards in the aftermath of the storm;
  3. In all instances staff should report to their line manager any unsafe conditions they are aware of;
  4. In particular:
  • Look out for damage to overhead power lines (including fallen ESB poles / fallen cables). Do not approach fallen power cables. Fallen or damaged power cables should be notified through line management structures to the ESB (1850 372 999);
  • Watch out for debris (fallen trees / branches / roof slates / etc.) that may have fallen onto roads and footpaths. Please ensure you inform your line manager of any unsafe conditions in this regard;
  • Cyclists and pedestrians are advised to be extra vigilant for hazards caused by fallen debris (including significant falls of wet leaves);
  • If you observe or are aware of any damage to property when the storm has passed, please notify your line manager;
  • Please exercise caution when driving to work or as part of work this week. Before travelling, check the latest information in relation to local access and be vigilant of debris on roads.
