Quality Early Years Care and Education: What to look for in an Early Years Service (Barnardos 2016)
This resource will support parents in consulting with early learning and care providers and in choosing a service if they are selecting a setting for their child for the first time.
The ebook covers areas such as children's rights; relationships and attachment; interactions; social, emotional and behavioural development; the learning environment; and management of the setting. First 5 - A Whole-of-Government Strategy for Babies, Young Children and their Families 2019-2028
First 5 is the first ever cross-Departmental strategy to support babies, young children and their families.
The aim of the ambitious ten-year plan is to deliver:
- A broader range of options for parents to balance working and caring
- A new model of parenting support
- New developments in child health, including a dedicated child health workforce
- Reform of the Early Learning and Care (ELC) system, including a new funding model
- A package of measures to tackle early childhood poverty
National Parents Council Early Years Supporting Parents Supporting Children
The National Parents Council Primary has over thirty years experience working to provide support and represent parents of children in primary schools. Tusla Quality and Regulatory Framework eLearning programme
This eLearning programme was developed to support early learning and care providers to gain a better understanding of how the childcare regulations should be implemented in practice. The contents of the programme while not aimed at parents will support parent’s awareness of the requirements and expectations of early years services to comply with the child care regulations and raise awareness of quality early years provision.
