Early Years Inspectorate - Pre-School Services

The Early Years Inspectorate is the statutory regulatory of early years services in Ireland. Regulation includes registration, inspection and, where necessary, enforcement. Early years services include; pre-school services, school-age services and childminding services.

Pre-school services are play groups, day nurseries, crèches, day-care and similar services which cater for children aged 0-6 years.

	New Applications and Change in Circumstances – Timeframes for 2024 This document provides guidance on timeframes for when complete applications for new registrations and changes in circumstances must be submitted in order to processed for September 2024
New Inspection Findings Review and Factual Accuracy Processes  The current Disputed Findings process has been extensively reviewed and enhanced. The new process, which will be renamed the Inspection Findings Review (IFR) process, will be introduced and implemented for inspections which are carried out on or after 12th February 2024. A webinar was held to outline the new process on 29th January 2024 which has been recorded and made available on the Tusla website.  You can access the session, along with the presentations, on our webinars page.
