Tusla acknowledges the publication of HIQA inspection reports re. two special care units
5th December 2017 - Tusla – Child and Family Agency acknowledges the publication today of the HIQA inspection reports in relation to two special care units. The reports highlight areas for improvement and Tusla is actively working to implement comprehensive action plans submitted to HIQA.

Family Resource Centres receive €2.1 million in additional funding
24 November 2017. Family Resource Centres around the country are receiving an additional €2.120 million in funding to fund small works and the upgrading of equipment. The 'one-off' funding is being provided through Tusla – Child and Family Agency.

21st November 2017 - Tusla – Child and Family Agency acknowledges the publication today of the HIQA follow-up inspection report in relation to fostering services in Cork. The report highlights areas for improvement and Tusla is actively working to implement, as a priority, the comprehensive action plan that was submitted to HIQA following the initial inspection in February 2017

Cork school children awarded for unbroken school attendance
8th November 2017 - 81 students from 28 primary and secondary schools in Cork gathered in Cork City Hall today to receive awards from the Cork Lord Mayor for never missing a day in school for eight or more consecutive years.

25th October 2017 - Four children who previously lived in the former refugee camp known as ‘the Jungle’ in Calais will arrive in Ireland in the coming days, bringing the total number of separated children from Calais in Ireland to 30.

23rd October 2017 - Tusla – Child and Family Agency will be investing an additional €5.0m into its Family Resource Centre Programme between now and the end of 2018.

Tusla – Child and Family Agency Statement on Budget 2018 Allocation
10th October 2017 - Tusla – Child and Family Agency welcomes the announcement that the agency will receive an additional €40.6m in funding for 2018 from the Department of Children and Youth Affairs. This represents a significant increase on 2017 and brings the agency’s annual funding for 2018 to over €750 million*. The Budget 2018 allocation will enable Tusla to respond to increased demands on the agency, progress key service developments and expand the provision of community-based supports through Family Resource Centres (FRCs).

Tusla launches Children First information booklets and e-learning programme
2nd October 2017 - Tusla – Child and Family Agency today launched a suite of Children First information booklets and an accompanying e-learning programme. The booklets support the forthcoming introduction of the revised Children First: National Guidance for the Protection and Welfare of Children and commencement of remaining provisions of the Children First Act 2015.
