New Communities
Welcoming new families to Ireland is an opportunity to extend the spirit of inclusiveness and community.
As new families embark on their journey, encouragement and guidance are key in supporting them to adapt and thrive. Welcoming new families to Ireland with positive and affirming language fosters a sense of unity and belonging. It's about building bridges, nurturing a supportive environment, and celebrating diversity as a strength. By doing so, we not only help these families set down roots in their new space but also enrich our communities with new perspectives and cultures.
Prevention, Partnership and Family Support have developed booklets and leaflets* that include some practical guidance for parents to help them navigate the early years of a child’s life while in Ireland, from pre-school childcare and the schooling system, right through to child supervision and family support services.
*These revised editions have been funded by the Children and Young People’s Services Committees (CYPSC) initiative.
