Tusla – Child and Family Agency Appoints Interim CEO
The Board of Tusla – Child and Family Agency wishes to announce that as of the 1st October 2018 Pat Smyth, Director of Finance will be the Interim Chief Executive of Tusla. He has played a crucial role as Director of Finance for the past 5 years and the Board is confident that he will continue to make valuable and significant contributions to the agency as he takes up this new role. The interim appointment will be for an initial period of three months.
Norah Gibbons, Chair of the Board, Tusla said: “As Chair of the Board I am delighted that someone of Pats calibre and experience within the complex and challenging environment of child protection and welfare will be taking up this important role. Under Pat’s leadership I’m confident that the agency will continue to develop and enhance the services provided to vulnerable children and families.”
Speaking about his appointment Pat Smyth said: “I am looking forward to taking up this role at a crucial and busy time for the agency as we continue on our journey of transformation. The rate of progress within the agency is admirable and whilst there is still much to do, I have full confidence that with the continued commitment of staff throughout the country we will continue to enhance services for vulnerable children and families, and deliver on the activities and priorities set out in the Corporate Plan.”
