Tusla Issues Update on the Early Years Sector
Wednesday 22nd January 2020: Tusla – Child and Family Agency today publishes an update on key areas of the Early Years Sector, in line with its commitment to greater communication with parents and providers in the sector. These updates relate to the re-registration of childcare providers and the removal of two services from the register.
NRP Publishes Reports on the deaths of three children
Friday, 6th December 2019: The National Review Panel (NRP), chaired by Dr Helen Buckley today publishes executive summary reports reviewing the deaths of three children and young people known to the child protection system.
Tusla Statement on Registration Requirements for Early Years’ Service Providers
Friday, 29th November 2019: Tusla – Child and Family Agency wishes to clarify the requirements on early years’ service providers in the run up to the upcoming registration deadline of 12th December. These statutory regulations have been in place since 2016, and it is Tusla’s job as regulator to implement these to ensure children are as safe as possible and providers are in compliance with the regulations. We have been working with and supporting providers over the past 18 months, and have actively been engaging with the sector around the upcoming deadlines.
Removal of Early Years services from register

Tusla Educational Support Service launch first national, School Attendance Drive ‘Every School Day Counts’
Tuesday, 5th November 2019: Tusla Education Support Service or tess is launching its first national, School Attendance Drive ‘Every School Day Counts’ to promote regular school attendance. Each school day approximately 60,000 students miss school in Ireland. tess is running an attendance drive throughout the month of November, when attendance traditionally dips, to encourage and promote the importance of regular school attendance with children, young people, parents and schools
Tusla response to HIQA Inspection Report for Dublin Mid Leinster region
Friday, 4th October 2019: Tusla – Child and Family Agency acknowledges the publication today of the HIQA inspection report on the role of Tusla social workers in monitoring placements of children in care in the Dublin Mid Leinster region.

Thursday, 3rd October, 2019: The HIQA inspection report published today regarding Carlow/ Kilkenny/South Tipperary fostering services relates to an inspection carried out in May 2019.
Launch of Barnahus, Onehouse Galway pilot project
Monday 16th September, 2019: Dr Katherine Zappone TD, the Minister for Children and Youth Affairs, and Charlie Flanagan TD, Minister for Justice and Equality, officially launched the Barnahus, Onehouse Galway pilot project at a special launch at The Institute for Lifecourse and Society at NUI Galway today.
