'Forever home' sought for caring Cavan teenage girl

A loving home is sought in Co Cavan for a caring, creative teenage girl.

Lucy* is a bright, creative, funny, and curious 13-year-old from County Cavan who requires someone from her local community to provide her with what she calls a ‘forever home’.

Lucy has a very caring and kind nature and loves to help with jobs and with minding others. She has experienced significant loss over recent years which has impacted her mental health and self-esteem.

Lucy is naturally very athletic; is learning boxing and loves running and the outdoors. She also loves listening to music.

Lucy attends horse riding weekly, and she absolutely loves animals. She is very independent,  takes care of all her own self-care skills, makes her own lunch and keeps her room tidy.

Lucy requires a long-term placement where she can be given the attention and time that she needs as well as the security and love to process the traumatic events and broken relationships in her life to date and move forward in her life in a positive way.

A foster carer that has worked with children who have experienced adverse childhood experiences would be a great match to care for Lucy. It would be of benefit if the potential carer was single or from a smaller family size with older female teenage children.

If you are interested in becoming a foster carer for Lucy, informal enquiries can be made to Samantha Martin, Social Worker/ Cora Cooney TL on 047 95704.
