Tusla - An Ghníomhaireacht um Leanaí agus an Teaghlach - Child and Family Agency

A caring foster family is urgently needed for Liam*, a two-year-old little boy in the West of the country, who has a physical disability.

Liam enjoys listening to music and songs and watching cartoons. He loves being chatted to and responds with smiles. Liam needs carers who can provide safety and support, allowing him to continue to grow and develop. His physical disability currently restricts his ability to move around, and he needs to be peg fed during the day. He is generally very well but he does need some support with his breathing at night.

Liam is supported by the local Children in Care and Fostering team and his foster carers will receive specialist training, ongoing professional support and guidance to help them understand his care needs and celebrate his milestones. This would include peg feeding and help with his specialised buggy and seating arrangements.

We are looking for one foster family or possibly two foster families who could consider sharing the care of little Liam. There is a support package in place to help any family or families who could offer Liam a loving home. This would include support from the local Children's Disabilty Network team and access to home support if required. Other supports include an enhanced fostering allowance and access to Domiciliary Carers Allowance & Respite Care Grant.

Please get in touch if you would like more information or share with friends and family who you think might consider caring on a part time or full-time basis. If you can offer Liam a loving family home where he can continue to grow, learn and feel safe, we would love to hear from you.
