Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (TEDI)
The TEDI programme is an initiative developed by the Health Wellbeing and EAP department, in the efforts to drive cultural change within the organisation and promote a supportive and inclusive working environment. Initiatives from the TEDI agenda are linked to the targeted goals of the organisation via inclusion in the Workforce Planning, Business and Strategic Plans and are regularly reported to the Public Sector Duty Committee.
The TEDI programme partially fulfils Tusla’s legal obligations under the following three key pieces of legislation:
• Disability Act, 2005
• Employment Equality Acts, 1998 to 2008
• Irish Human Rights and Equality Commission Act, 2014 (Section 42)
TEDI Steering Committee
In line with best governance, the role of the TEDI Steering Committee is to liaise with other departments and services with the purpose of providing governance and evidence of consultation on Tusla’s Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion programme. It will provide expertise, advice, support and oversight of all TEDI initiatives.
The work of TEDI’s Steering Committee includes raising awareness of Equality, Diversity & Inclusion and improving the culture of the workplace for all staff through dialogue, resources, advocacy, and education as aligned to the People & Change Strategy and to contribute to the agency’s obligations under Public Sector Duty.
If you have any questions on the above, please do not hesitate to contact the Health, Wellbeing & EAP team at eap@tusla.ie .
