Noah* is a happy and fun-loving 8-year-old boy who needs a new full-time, stable foster placement. Noah is in 2nd class and is described by his teacher as popular among the other children and with a capacity for being particularly kind and gentle with others. When not in school, he enjoys adventuring outdoors and playing football and other sports. Due to the trauma he experienced in his early years, Noah engages in some challenging behaviours on occasion. Instances of verbal and physical confrontations have been noted by teachers, peers and other parents at afterschool and when Noah is playing with other children. Noah’s carers have noted that time outdoors and guidance on identifying his feelings have helped him to learn to self-regulate in times of stress, and he seems to be making real strides. Noah is currently awaiting assessment to determine his needs and what professional supports will be offered. He would benefit from having experienced foster carers with the capacity to work with him patiently and provide plenty of opportunities for active, outdoor play. Noah would ideally be placed with foster carers who have no other young children, and ideally in Co Meath or its surroundings so that he can remain close to his siblings and other relatives.
