- National Recruitment Campaign for Social Workers -
Tusla – Child and Family Agency and Social Work All Employers Forum are today proud to announce the launch of Social Work Awareness Week. Taking place from November 21st -27th, this campaign will celebrate the instrumental work social workers do every day in organisations and communities across Ireland. It is also a recruitment drive and awareness campaign for anyone interested in a career in Social Work.
During this week industry leaders and front-line staff members will share their experiences and highlight the importance of social workers and the positive difference they can make in a child’s life.
Currently, Tusla employs 1,609 social workers across Ireland, but the Agency is recruiting more social workers to match the growing demand across various teams, including adoption, fostering, child protection and family support.
Commenting on Social Work Awareness Week Rosarii Mannion, Director of People and Change, Tusla said, “On behalf of Tusla and the Social Work All Employers Forum, I am delighted to officially launch Social Work Awareness Week. Social workers are instrumental to the work we do in Tusla and within our partner agencies and organisations across the country. Throughout this week, we aim to celebrate this vital work that has had a positive impact on so many. It also provides us with an opportunity to highlight Social Work as a career for anyone ready to take the next step in their career, or those looking to make a career change.
“As a child and family agency, we understand and prioritise work-life balance and value family-friendly policies. Joining our social work team brings a range of benefits, including 30 days of annual leave, pensionable service, and financial security. Our hybrid working arrangement provides flexibility and remote work options, ensuring a healthy work-life balance. Additionally, our inclusive and supportive family-friendly policies create a welcoming environment for a diverse workforce”, Ms Mannion concluded.
Clare Murphy, Director of Services and Integration, Tusla stated, “Social Work Awareness Week is a fantastic opportunity to highlight the dedication of Social Workers who are responsible for improving wellbeing and better outcomes for children, young people, and families. Though at times challenging, it is also a hugely rewarding role that leaves a lasting impact and helps ensure that support is there when it’s needed most. Quite simply, we could not do the work that we do without our Social Workers. Whether you’re a recent graduate or considering a career change, information about a career in Social Work can be found at www.tusla.ie.”
Tusla is currently recruiting social workers for positions across the country to meet the critical need for their services in supporting children and families in our communities.
We encourage recent graduates and experienced social workers who are considering a career change or returning to work to explore the various career opportunities available at Tusla.ie or by contacting us at tuslarecruit@tusla.ie.
“Make a difference, join Tusla.”
