Appointment of Dr James Reilly, T.D. as Minister for Children and Youth Affairs
Welcoming the appointment of James Reilly, T.D. as Minister for Children and Youth Affairs, Chairperson of Tusla – Child and Family Agency, Norah Gibbons says:
“I would like to congratulate Minister Reilly on his appointment as Minister for Children and Youth Affairs. Often the first professional to raise a concern about a child is a GP or a public health nurse. Minister Reilly’s experience in the Health portfolio and his background as a GP will be invaluable as we work towards strengthened interagency cooperation to ensure early intervention and prevention in child protection matters.”
Mr Gordon Jeyes, Chief Executive, Tusla – Child and Family Agency says:
“I look forward to working with Minister Reilly as we move into the next critical phase in the development of the Child and Family Agency. At this crucial juncture, the breadth of Dr Reilly’s political and medical experience will be of great benefit to the Agency. In return, I believe that this appointment offers Dr Reilly a unique opportunity to shape the lives of Ireland’s children and young people. He will have the full support of the Agency in this regard.”
