Appointment of Ms. Madeleine Clarke as Chairperson of Tusla

Today the Minister for Children, Disability and Equality, Norma Foley announced the appointment of Ms. Madeleine Clarke as the Chairperson of the Board of Tusla - Child and Family Agency.  The vacancy for the role of Chairperson on the Board of Tusla arose on 31 December 2025 when the term of office for Mr Pat Rabbitte, Chairperson, expired. Ms Clarke was appointed by the Minister following a selection process which was managed by the Public Appointments Service and in accordance with the government’s Guidelines on Appointments to State Bodies.

Speaking about the appointment Kate Duggan, CEO, Tusla said: “I very much welcome the appointment of Ms Madeline Clarke as the next Chairperson of Tusla, and I look forward to working with her.

Her significant experience in services for children and families will be of great value to the Agency as we continue to implement our ambitious Reform Programme, to ensure that we better support children and families across Ireland, at a particularly challenging time, as we experience a greater demand for our services than ever before.”
