  • Why young people find drugs so attractive.
  • How drugs and alcohol impact differently on young people.
  • Tips on how parents, family members and professionals can help support a young person and their family where there is substance abuse.

Joe Slattery is an accredited member of the Addiction Counsellors of Ireland since 2013. He has been working in the area of family support and crisis intervention for over ten years. For the past seven years, Joe has worked directly with substance misusing adolescents/ young adults and their families, working from a harm reduction approach, in-cooperating community based supports, one to one counselling with group and family based interventions.
