Lisa* is a cheerful and bubby 11-year-old girl who has been in foster care since she was three years old. Lisa is a very creative and active young girl who loves gymnastics, art, drama, singing and dancing. Lisa is in 5th class in school where she does very well, and while she has a diagnosis of phonological dyslexia, her teachers have advised that this does not impact her academically. Due to the trauma Lisa experienced in early years, her current carers have noted some behaviours of concerns on occasion including her shouting, yelling or lashing out at member of the family. These behaviours have not been observed in any other setting or in any of her other placements. Lisa is getting support and is currently engaged with a Senior Clinical Psychologist which has proved beneficial for her. Lisa would benefit from stability and security and ideally would be seeking a long-term placement in the Mid-West until she turns eighteen. A local placement would ensure Lisa can maintain connections with family and friends, and continue her sessions with her Senior Clinical Psychologist.
