John* is a highly intelligent, adorable 5-year-old boy who has only recently entered care and has already charmed everyone who has come into contact with him.

John is pleasant and funny, gentle and affectionate. He plays well with other children and enjoys make-believe games, cars, Lego, playgrounds, water play at bathtime and going to the beach. John also adores adult company and shows a keen interest in language, people and how things work or get done. 

John attends preschool for a few hours each day and will commence primary school in September 2025. Some challenges related to emotional regulation, spatial awareness and vision have been noted and will be investigated, but in the main John is doing very well in an environment with proper boundaries, routine, and nutrition. 

John has previously had visits with his two half-siblings and each of his parents, but these have been paused. It is hoped that, with time and support, these visits may resume. Ideally, John’s new foster carers would be located in or nearby Co Louth.

John is making great progress and bringing a great deal of joy to his current carers, and they believe he would absolutely thrive in a stable and loving family environment.
