Menopause is a natural life stage that affects many Tusla staff, yet it often remains under-discussed in professional settings. This World Menopause Day, Tusla reaffirms its commitment to creating a supportive, inclusive workplace where staff experiencing menopause feel empowered, understood, and valued.
Being ‘menopause aware’ encourages workplaces to implement supportive, menopause-friendly policies, and also provides education and resources for healthcare professionals and the public.
This year’s theme focuses on the role of lifestyle medicine in menopausal health, reminding us that menopause is not just about symptoms – it’s about long-term wellbeing.
Tusla encourages all staff to explore available resources, attend awareness events, and support colleagues with empathy and understanding. Together, we can break the stigma and build a workplace where every stage of life is respected. Supports available: Tusla recognises that menopause is a very individual experience and therefore different types of supports and adjustments may be needed. We are committed to ensuring that managers are sympathetic and provide appropriate support when needed to assist with issues arising in the workplace.
