A Loving Foster Home Needed for Colm* – A Bright and Energetic 5-Year-Old

Tusla is seeking compassionate and committed foster carers to provide a safe, stable, and nurturing home for Colm, a vibrant and affectionate five-year-old boy currently living in the east of the country.

Colm is a lively and imaginative child who thrives on connection and exploration. He enjoys spending time outdoors—particularly on forest walks where he can let his imagination roam—and he engages enthusiastically in sensory and creative play. Colm’s days are filled with energy, music, and curiosity, and he finds comfort and reassurance in the warmth and presence of caring adults.

Described as loyal, affectionate, and protective of those he trusts, Colm is looking for foster carers who can offer the patience, understanding, and consistency he needs to feel secure and supported. With the right care, Colm has the potential to flourish and form meaningful, lasting attachments.

Colm has been diagnosed with a mild learning disability and sometimes finds verbal communication challenging, which can lead to frustration. However, with time and understanding, carers will come to know and appreciate his unique ways of expressing himself.

He is currently receiving a high level of support in school and enjoys attending once he is settled into routine. To support his placement, an enhanced fostering allowance will be provided, along with a comprehensive therapeutic support package. This includes tailored parenting guidance, trauma-informed workshops, and access to specialist interventions aimed at helping Colm thrive.
