A foster family for Brian*

Brian* is a bright, gentle, and affectionate five-year-old boy who loves playing with his Play-Doh, watching Peppa Pig and Bluey, and eating his favourite mini pizzas. Like many children, Brian loves tickles, affection and positive affirmation. Brian is described by all who meet him as a gentle soul who just needs some stability in his life. He has a strong emotional connection with his mother and benefits greatly from patient carers who help him feel safe and understood. 

Brian has Global Developmental Delay (GDD) which means it takes him longer to reach certain development milestones than other children their age and he requires care and support with his daily needs. Although he has not attended an educational placement since last December, Brian continues to make small but meaningful progress with support and reassurance. 

Brian can become dysregulated at times when he feels scared or overwhelmed and, in this situation, requires reassurance, cuddles, and affection. 

Brian thrives on comfort, consistency, and warmth and currently needs a patient and nurturing foster carer or foster family in the southeast of the country who can offer a short-term placement.  With the right support and stability, Brian has every opportunity to continue to develop and thrive.

A loving, engaging, and resilient little boy, Brian will bring joy to the right carers. He will thrive in a calm and structured home environment with a carer, or carers, committed to working closely with the professional network supporting Brian, and a willingness to learn about caring for children with additional needs.
