Twelve-year-old Bobby* who lives with his foster parent in the east of the country requires regular respite foster care to support and sustain his current foster placement. Bobby is a playful, fun and empathetic boy who enjoys Lego, arts and crafts and cycling. He also loves hiking and walking, football, music, water activities and animals. He is a sociable young person and enjoys and engages in all of the opportunities, activities and trips offered to him. Bobby needs a carer who is energetic and enjoys outdoor activities which provide him with natural regulatory activities. Bobby also enjoys his down time and can entertain himself when at home. Bobby needs to feel comfortable and secure when staying away from his primary carer, as being separated can be difficult for him. He requires a respite foster carer who lives in the Dublin, Wicklow or Wexford area, and who can support him to continue to attend his school in Leinster while on respite. He is in receipt of school transport which will transfer to the respite placement (location dependent). Bobby has a diagnosis of ADHD, EBD. He has attachment and trauma related behaviours and requires clear boundaries. He needs a respite carer who has an understanding of trauma and attachment issues. Bobby has support from CAMHS for his ADHD and therapeutic support will also be provided to support his carers to help understand and respond to his needs.
