Tusla - An Ghníomhaireacht um Leanaí agus an Teaghlach - Child and Family Agency

A loving ‘forever’ home is needed for 9-year-old Amy* - a thoughtful, bubbly young girl who is in need of a fresh start in life.

Amy was admitted into care in March 2024, having lived with different family members from a young age. She was exposed to significant trauma in her early years due to parent’s addiction concerns and requires a stable, loving home, where she can thrive and grow as part of a family.

Amy has an allocated Social Worker, Social Care Worker support and avails of local supports such as adventure therapy and residential respite service. She has contact with her dad monthly.

It is hoped that Amy secures a ‘forever’ home soon as it is believed she would thrive in a home environment.

Amy may benefit from carers that are flexible, understanding, and able to give consistent love and attention.

It would be important for Amy to be placed with foster carers who are trauma informed. Amy is well able to confide and talk about how she is feeling once in the right environment.

She presents as friendly, fun, considerate, kind, chatty and a bubbly young girl. She engages very well with staff from Tusla, school and therapeutic supports.

Amy’s favourite hobby is art. She also enjoys swimming.

Amy prefers activities that are 1:1 rather than in large group settings.

Amy is physically healthy with no additional needs concerns.
