Testimonials

Testimonial - KateOpen Quote I applied for a position in Tusla through the Graduate Programme in 2021.

I found the process very easy as Tusla had a step- by- step guide for every stage of the of the recruitment process and this was strongly supported by the Tusla HR staff.

I was successful in the interviews, and I am now part of the Child Protection Team in Dublin South Central. Working with Tusla has been an extremely positive experience and I feel very supported and encouraged by my wider team and my team leader. I am grateful that Tusla had launched the Graduate Programme whilst I was still in university as it was a great opportunity for me as a student and enabled me to seek a social work position before I had even finished my studies, which meant I did not have to wait for months until after I qualified to look for employment. I feel very fulfilled, supported, and appreciated in my role as a Child Protection Social Worker, and I would highly recommend coming through the Graduate Programme to other students who are preparing to complete their studies Close Quote

Open Quote I started working for Tusla on 14th September 2021 in Children in Care Team, Swords Airside. Probably most of you have been discouraged to work for Tusla based on hearsay or perhaps what you have heard from the news. I was the same.

I realised that there is no such thing as a perfect workplace or a perfect manager. Since I started working for Tusla, I can say that I have gained a deeper knowledge and understanding of what a Social Worker is and the life of a Social Worker. I am getting the support and supervision I need. Thank you to my Team Leader who has been there since day one and I cannot thank her enough and to my colleagues. I am only new in the profession, but I have learned so much already. I believe Tusla gives you that grounding and the experience is worth it.  Close Quote

Tusla’s focus on keeping children safe, and empowering families means that ongoing training and education of our social workers and social care workers is a key priority.

Our organisation needs staff who are trained to provide assistance in a kind and respectful way. It is vital, therefore, that we support universities in their training by providing students with high-quality placements alongside committed practice educators who will guide them through experiential learning.
