Tusla is establishing a new independent Research Ethics Committee (REC) to review research ethics applications and ensure they adhere to ethical standards. The REC is now looking for those with an interest in and/or experience of research ethics to become members.

The REC will assess research in areas including: Child welfare and protection; Early years (pre-school) inspection; Educational welfare; Domestic, sexual and gender based violence; Psychological welfare of children; Adoption and alternative care and other areas of research that meet the requirements for Tusla ethical approval
