Invitation to Participate in National Survey on Birth Information and Tracing Services
Invitation to Participate in National Survey on Birth Information and Tracing Services
Minister Foley has recently launched a national survey on the operation of the Birth Information and Tracing Act 2022, which may be of interest to anyone who has accessed the Birth Information and Tracing Services provided by Tusla and the Adoption Authority of Ireland.
This survey is being conducted as part of an independent review of the services established under the Act, which provide access to birth and early life information, birth certificates, a tracing service for relevant persons, birth parents and birth relatives and the Contact Preference Register.
We recognise that this subject may be deeply personal and, for some, may connect to complex or sensitive life experiences.
For those who have direct experience of these services, including those who were adopted, boarded out, the subject of an illegal birth registration or who may have spent time in a Mother and Baby and County Home Institution, the survey offers an opportunity to share views in a confidential and respectful way. Feedback will help inform how these services continue to evolve and improve.
- Survey open: 10 June – 24 July 2026 (closing at 5pm)
- Estimated time: 10–30 minutes
- Participation: Anonymous and voluntary
